LTM: The Linear Topic Map Notation

LTM, or the Linear Topic Map Notation, is a compact topic map syntax developed by Ontopia. It is ideal for quickly writing topic maps in a text editor, and for examples in email and IRC discussions. The syntax is not recognized by any standards organization, but is quite widely used, and complements the two standard syntaxes.

The current version of LTM is 1.3, which is defined by the official specification.

LTM is currently supported by:

• The OKS
• TM4J
• Perl XTM
• tinyTiM

Some files adding support for editing LTM in various editors are also available:

• a simple Emacs mode for editing LTM
• a patterns file for NEdit
• a KEDIT Language Definition file
• a vim module.
